Yes, a number of benefits are available to members after graduating with their undergraduate degree. A number of scholarship programs are available to fund graduate school, law school or medical school. Please see scholarship listing for eligibility and requirements. Golden Key holds virtual career fairs and provides additional resources for getting a job or applying to graduate school. Golden Key alumni members are eligible for other select member discounts and promotions after graduation. Members who have graduated can also remain involved with the local university’s Golden Key chapter (regardless of where you were inducted) if desired.
Golden Key will continue to stay in touch with you after your graduation to remind you of member benefits. Just remember to keep your contact information updated with Golden Key online.
No. There is a one-time membership fee that is paid when an individual joins. Once you join, you are a lifetime member and never have to pay annual fees or dues.
Golden Key has chapters at over 400 colleges and universities in Australia, Canada, India, Malaysia, New Zealand, South Africa, The Bahamas and the United States.
Golden Key partners with corporate and nonprofit organizations, offering members internship and career opportunities.

First, we’ll check to see if you are on our invitation list. If your name is on the list, we’ll give you a replacement invitation immediately. It’s possible we did not receive your current address from the university or the letter was lost in the mail.
If not on our invitation list, you have four options:
1. Secure a copy of your transcript or grade report (the copy mailed to you or an unofficial copy printed from an online source). Please bring this transcript to the Golden Key chapter advisor or the chapter’s information table.
2. Email [email protected] with a copy of your transcript to secure your personal online join authorization code.
3. Fax a copy of your transcript to Member Services at 678-689-2298.
4. Mail a copy of your transcript to:

Yes. Contact the chapter advisor at your school. Indicate that you received the invitation but you need another one. Be sure to provide your full name and your current mailing address. The advisor will verify that you are on the invitation list and mail you a replacement invitation. If you are unable to reach the chapter advisor, call Golden Key at 1-800-377-2401or e-mail memberserv[email protected]
Request your Member ID number from Member Services by sending an email with your Last Name (Surname) [email protected] or call 1-800-377-2401.
Once you become a member, you are a member for life. Your membership will not be withdrawn due to grade changes.
You can accept your membership invitation by doing one of the following: (check out the How to Join page as well)
A. Join online via our secure website (US, Canada and Australia only). Your letter of information or email will provide you with specific instructions on how to accept your membership and pay online. If you have lost your letter, call the Society’s International Headquarters at 1-800 377-2401 or your region’s local office.
B. Begin the join process online (US, Canada and Australia only), then print out the completed form and mail with the payment to your local headquarters.
C. Mail the completed Membership Acceptance Form and complete fee payment to Golden Key Headquarters in Atlanta, Ga., or to your region’s local office as indicated on the pre-addressed return envelope. The acceptance form must arrive at by the “reply-by” date to produce your certificate in time for the induction.
If your Membership Acceptance Form arrives at Golden Key Headquarters after the deadline, you must request a certificate from Member Services to be mailed to your current address. Member Services can be reached from 8am-6pm EST, Monday-Friday, by calling 1-800-377-2401 and/or email at [email protected] Please note that your certificate will take 6-8 weeks to arrive. However, you should still plan on attending the new member recognition event so that you can be recognized.
Be recognized! Attend the new member recognition event for all new members; though you may bring as many guests as you like, the favor of a RSVP may be asked by your chapter for planning purposes.
Golden Key, at the international level, encourages its members to perform education-based service activities. Chapters are encouraged to organize activities that benefit and contribute to the welfare of their community. Giving back to the community through service and public works is a core Golden Key value.
Golden Key is the world’s largest collegiate honor society. Membership into the Society is by invitation only and applies to the top 15% of college and university sophomores, juniors and seniors, as well as top-performing graduate students in all fields of study, based solely on their academic achievements.
The membership fee is shared between the local chapter and international headquarters. The membership fee funds membership benefits and supports local chapters in a variety of ways including: Local chapter scholarships New Member Recognition Event Society scholarships for members Local academic, service and social activities International Summit Headquarters support to chapters (staff support, mailings, technology, benefits development, public relations) and more.
Golden Key membership has grown to a network of over 2 million members from more than 190 countries. Members include students from all over the world, faculty members, university staff, university presidents, teachers, doctors, engineers, social workers, entrepreneurs, politicians and military leaders, among others. There are also many prominent figures who are members.
The Society offers members valuable opportunities for individual growth through the three pillars: academics, leadership and service. Golden Key offers numerous scholarships and awards, available only to members, as well as career development, networking and literacy service opportunities and unique discounts from partner companies.

Our chapter of Golden Key highly encourages our members to pursue leadership positions. Members can apply to the many director positions we have, including Intramurals, Mentorship, and Rock for the Hungry. In addition, Executive positions are available including President, Secretary, Treasurer, and Outreach.

UF’s Chapter of Golden Key has won many local awards, as well as the International Key Chapter Award. Also, UF’s chapter is open to all students, whether they meet the International requirements or not.

They are annual benefit concerts that UF Golden Key holds. It is hosted at a local venue and features local bands. All proceeds go to The Children’s Table, a charity that collects fresh food for those in need. Rally for the Hungry takes place each fall, and Rock for the Hungry takes place each spring.
NMRE is the New Member Recognition Event. It’s a wonderful ceremony where you are officially inducted into Golden Key. You get to dress up, receive a beautiful certificate, and eat delicious food!
UF’s chapter is constantly involved in service. There are university-wide events, such as Relay for Life, Gainesville events, such as Gator Plunge, and our own events like volunteering at the local primate sanctuary or cleaning up our adopted street.
You get out of Golden Key what you put into it. You can be as active or as inactive as you want, however, we’re really great and fun and interesting, so we’d love for you to come our to our meetings, events, and socials. General Body Meetings are bi-weekly, and there are usually several fundraisers, socials, and service events each month.
Get involved! General Body Meetings are held every other Wednesday at 7pm in Turlington Hall, Room L005. This is the best way to stay updated on Golden Key events and opportunities and to meet other members. You can also join our group on Facebook to make sure you don’t miss out on any of our events!
